283: The AI Systems Creators Are Actually Running
Almost everybody I talk to has been using AI for a couple of years now. They have a paid subscription, they have watched the videos, they can tell you what an AI agent is. And then you ask them what systems they actually have running, and how any of it is helping them make money, and there is not much of an answer.
In this episode I open with the thing I changed in my own business, which is that I stopped building my slide decks in Canva and started getting a finished, polished deck in about ten minutes using Claude and Gamma. Then I walk you through the AI in Action Summit, which runs September 15 through 17, and I go session by session through what the speakers are actually showing you, what my own sessions cover, how the week works, and what is in the VIP pass.
In this episode
- The exact ten minute workflow I use now instead of an afternoon in Canva
- Why knowing how to use AI and having AI run part of your business are two different things
- The one instruction I gave every speaker before they submitted a session
- The four groups of sessions inside the summit and who is teaching what
- My three live sessions, including the one where five people bring something they are stuck on
- What the VIP pass includes and why the Playbook exists

00:00Hi there, Destini here, and welcome back to the Creator's MBA Show. Thank you so much for joining me today, and I want to start off with a story. I used to make all of my own slides. Every workshop, every summit session that I was doing, every training I have ever recorded, what I would do is sit down with Canva and, using the features in Canva, build the deck myself.
Now, I was using AI, either Claude or ChatGPT, to help me with some of the content there, like the wording, but it was still a long process. A few months ago I stopped doing this. Now I spend maybe eight minutes or so with Claude getting the content of the deck right.
01:00What I'll do is sit down with a chat session and use the voice feature in Claude, and I'll just talk through what I want to cover in this particular workshop. I might point the AI to some of the other resources that I have, and then let it pull the workshop presentation or workshop content together. So Claude does that. It gives me a prompt.
I take that prompt and I go over to Gamma. Gamma is the AI I've been using to actually build the slides. You can build it in other ways also, but that's just the tool that I like to use for this. I put the prompt in Gamma, and then in two minutes or so I have a presentation deck
02:00that looks extremely polished. Now, I may need to go back in there and make some tweaks. I always go through all the information. Sometimes I'll switch out some images. I have some stock images that I like to use that are kind of on brand for me. Sometimes I don't. If I'm in a hurry, I just leave whatever stock images they put in there based on how I did the prompt and how they designed it.
And what I love about this is I don't have to spend an afternoon on a deck when ten minutes works just fine. And this is really what this whole episode is about. Here's what I keep coming back to when it relates to AI. Almost everybody I talk to has been using AI for the past couple of years at this point.
03:00They've got a paid subscription, whether it's to ChatGPT or Claude. They've watched a lot of AI videos. They generally know how to use it. They could even tell you what an AI agent is right now. And then when you ask them how they're pulling everything together, what systems they have set up, how it's actually helping them get stuff done faster, but also how it's helping them make more money, they kind of can't answer that question right now.
So I would say that using AI to write faster content and having AI run an actual piece of your business is a completely different thing, and I do think that the gap
04:00between those two is widening for a lot of business owners. So what I wanted to do was bring people together and have them actually show you behind the scenes of how they are using AI in their business. How are they using it to build systems, to get things done, and to actually make money with this? And that's what the AI in Action Summit is.
It is running from September 15th through the 17th. It's completely free, it's fully online, and I have brought together a group of business owners showing the AI systems that they are actually running in their businesses right now. So every speaker coming to this had the same instruction, which was to show us their
05:00real setup. The prompts, the tools, where things are connected, maybe even what broke the first time that they tried it, because I can tell you that a lot of things have broken when I was first getting things up and running. So I really wanted the version that you would show a friend who asked you how you did it, and that is what everybody delivered for us. These are working systems out of businesses that are running right now, and almost every single session will give you something that you could go set up this week.
So there are a few things going on here. One group of sessions is about getting AI to actually do the work instead of just answering you. Monica Froese is doing hers on agentic connectors, which is the difference between AI that tells you what to do
06:00and AI that you can hand something off to and it goes and does the work for you. Becky Beach is automating your business with agents, and Michael Deibert has built a system that archives his AI memory across both Claude and ChatGPT and everything else so that his AI actually remembers his business, and he walks us through how he built this entire thing.
Another group is about turning your expertise into something that you can actually sell. Kelly Sinclair is showing you how to build an AI tool that sells your expertise. Ruth Poundwhite is covering AI tools as products, build one in one afternoon and sell it that same week, and she's actually going to be doing that session live. And
07:00Christina Rava is doing one on building custom interactive workbooks with Claude Artifacts. If you are in the process of just giving people PDFs for your lead magnets right now, this session is one that you are most definitely going to want to check out.
And then there's a group of workshops on content and visibility. Steph Blake is going to show us how she automatically creates and sends her newsletters with Claude Cowork. Adrienne Farrow has a record once and use forever workflow in Gemini Notebook, and Brittany Long is editing video for YouTube and Reels inside of Claude. Kim Rittberg is going to be talking to us about being good on camera and then using AI to scale that. And Jodi Bourne is going to be doing
08:00a live session on getting AI to cite and recommend you by name. On the client and sales side, Kate Kordsmeier built an automated workflow so that every one of her coaching clients gets a personalized email from her.
And Prerna Malik is on AI-accelerated opt-in funnels, and Dani Paige has a post-webinar ritual that turns the nice comments into actual sales. And Laura Lopuch is going to be covering why your AI tools aren't bringing you clients. I'm also doing a few sessions of my own.
So two of them are the ones that I talked to you about a little at the beginning of this episode, which is how I'm doing workshops right now. I'm also going to be doing another one on how I do my event images. So if you run events,
09:00you know the thing where you need either a speaker graphic or you need ad images or email banners and all of that good stuff. So I have built a skill, and I'm going to show you how I did everything that does my event images, both in my personal brand, my Creator's MBA brand, and in HobbyScool. That is the exact skill that I'm using in ChatGPT.
I'm also doing one on building your affiliate program with AI, and this is perfect timing for this, so if you're wanting to get some affiliate partners on board and recruited and warmed up before Q4 starts, you're definitely going to want to listen to that one.
Most of the summit workshops that we have are on demand, which means you can watch any time you want, and there are a few of us that are going to be going live. So I'm going to point you
10:00to those. On Tuesday at 1:00 PM Eastern, which is September 15th, I'm going to be doing one on I Run Two Businesses on One AI System and Here's the Whole Map. So I'm going to be walking you through the strategy behind my model and framework that I use for my personal brand and HobbyScool, my B2C brand, and how I have AI integrated into all of that. So that's going to be on Tuesday at 1:00 PM, and I'm doing that live.
And then on Wednesday at 1:00 PM, I'm going to be walking you through how I run 12 summits a year in only five hours a week. And that one is for anybody who does any type of event and is drowning in them. I have definitely systematized how I run events, and this
11:00is going to be walking you through how I do them for HobbyScool. So that is definitely a don't miss type of session. And then Thursday is my favorite one.
So Thursday at 1:00 PM, I'm going to be doing something a little bit unique, and basically I am going to ask five people from the event to bring one thing they are stuck on and we will build it together in the room live. So start thinking about that, and if there's anything out there where you're like, oh, I really would like Destini to get her eyes on this and see if she can help me figure this out, that is a session that you will want to come to. Or basically send me a request. I'm looking for people to email me and say, this is something I'm stuck on, would you like to take a look at that? So that session is called Bring One Stuck Thing, We Will Build It Live.
12:00Now let's talk about how the summit week is going to work, and the logistics are super simple. Registration is free. I'm going to put the link in the podcast show notes here. I'm also sending out a lot of emails, so if you're on my email list you are getting those emails.
So registration is free. All of the recorded workshops will be live on Tuesday, September the 15th at 9:00 AM Eastern Time, and you can watch them in any order that you want. Free access to every single one of those workshops is going to be available to you until Friday, September the 18th at 9:00 AM Eastern Time.
13:00So that's when it'll come down, so you're going to have a full three-day window to watch any of those workshops. You don't have to be anywhere in particular at a particular time, unless you want to catch one of the live sessions. So we're going to be doing live sessions every single day for a couple of hours. I'm going to be doing one, and then our sponsors are going to be doing one. So we have three sponsors for this event, and each of them is going to be doing a live workshop.
Now, let's talk about the paid option. I want to walk you through what's in it and why you don't want to miss this. And I realize that it is tough, even though I'm giving you a full three days to watch all of these workshops, so if you register and you watch two or three of the sessions and real life happens, and then Friday morning it's gone, I just want you to know that you can purchase the
14:00VIP pass. It is $47 until the event starts. When the event starts, it goes up to $67. But let's talk about what's in it. You will be able to keep all of the sessions permanently, so there's no expiration window there.
You also get the resource vault, and that's where a lot of the value sits. So every speaker contributed one of their paid products, or I should say most speakers contributed one of their paid products. So Monica has the Creator Operating System bundle of AI skills. Shante has one in there. Michael has one in there. There are a lot of skills in there. In addition to all of those valuable skills, I'm doing a couple of other things. The one thing that I'm also going to do is the AI in Action Playbook, and the reason why I put this together
15:00is because a lot of people, when they go to these events, they come away with a lot of notes, and they have no idea what to do first. So what the Playbook does is read across every single session, and it lays out a build order for you. What to build first, and then what you might want to do next depending on what your goals are.
The second is the Tool Stack Table. So all of the tools that have been named in the summit, like the Gamma tool that I told you about, I will give you a table of all of that, what it costs, what the speaker uses it for, so that you will have that resource to go back to. And you're like, what tool did Destini say that she was using to do presentations and workshops? You will be able to go back to that table,
16:00and I will show you exactly what that tool is. The third is full searchable transcripts, plus a one-page takeaway for each session. I know that when I go to events like this, sometimes I just want that transcript, because then I can take that and upload it into my own AI system and say, help me put together a plan to implement that. To me, that is super, super valuable.
So that's the event. I'm hoping I'm going to see you there. And if you have been sitting on a pile of AI tools for a few years and you haven't really built a system, or you're trying to piecemeal things together, this is going to be the event for you. Again, the link is in the show notes. We open on Tuesday, September the 15th, so it's
17:00right around the corner here. If you're listening to this podcast episode after the event, grab the VIP pass. Everything will be there, and you can go grab it and still take action. Thanks for listening, and have a great rest of your day. Bye for now.
Thanks for listening all the way to the end. I hope you enjoyed this episode today. If you love the show, I'd appreciate a review on Apple Podcasts or your favorite podcast platform. Have a great rest of your day, and bye for now.
