Can a Hobby Brand Really Sell for $1M+? I’m Putting It to the Test.

Can a Hobby Brand Really Sell for $1M+? I’m Putting It to the Test.

Too many entrepreneurs chase sales without ever thinking about the bigger picture. I’m not just building HobbyScool for today’s revenue.

I’m building it to be worth $1M+ tomorrow a and one that I can eventually sell.

That’s the heart of my new project: The $1M HobbyScool Experiment.

By 2027, my goal is to grow HobbyScool, my flagship creative wellness brand, into a $1M+ sellable business. Not just a side hustle. Not just a stream of income. But a thriving digital asset with recurring revenue, an engaged community, and the systems in place to run smoothly without me.

Why HobbyScool?

HobbyScool started as a way to bring makers and creatives together. What began with a single online summit has grown into:

  • Monthly summits with tens of thousands of attendees

  • Memberships that help crafters and hobbyists connect and learn

  • Digital products like journals, planners, and resources

  • Sponsorships and affiliate partnerships with aligned brands

It’s already a business with traction. But now, I want to prove what’s possible when you build with intention, not just for sales, but for enterprise value.

Why Sellability Matters

There’s a big difference between building a business that pays the bills and building a business that’s worth something on the open market.

A sellable business has:

  • Predictable, recurring revenue

  • Systems and processes that run without the founder

  • An engaged community and brand equity

  • Multiple, diversified income streams

That’s what makes a company valuable to a buyer — and that’s what I’m working toward with HobbyScool.

Why Do This Publicly?

Because too often, creators only share the highlight reel.

I want to document the real journey: the wins, the setbacks, and the messy middle. If you’re building your own business, I want this to serve as a living case study you can learn from in real time.

That means I’ll be sharing:

  • Monthly updates on what’s working (and what’s not)

  • Revenue milestones and key numbers

  • Behind-the-scenes strategies around summits, memberships, and digital products

  • Lessons on scaling with AI and rinse-and-repeat growth systems

What’s Next

The end goal is clear: by 2027, HobbyScool will be valued at $1M+ and ready for sale.

Between now and then, you’ll see me experiment with:

  • Scaling memberships and events

  • Adding new revenue streams like licensing and corporate wellness programs

  • Strengthening systems so the brand runs without me

  • Building community and partnerships that boost long-term value
